He then went on to study for his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Stellenbosh, near Cape Town and thereafter his Master’s of Sports Science at the University of Natal, Durban.

He brings to Xcel a wealth of orthopedic, manual and sports physical therapy experience.
After moving to the USA permanently and becoming a US citizen, he gained much experience working in various clinics and hospitals in the greater Dayton area and Indiana. Xcel Sports Medicine was established in 2006, with the core principle being the ‘hands-on’ approach to PT which defines the philosophy of the clinic. This is the fundamental basis of the clinic’s approach to the management of orthopedic, and sports injuries that constitute the bulk of the patient population at the clinic.
An avid marathon runner, Greg has run in many area races, including the New York, Columbus, Cincinnati Flying Pig, Air Force, and Boston Marathons and he has run the 56 mile Comrades in South Africa 8 times. He enjoys sharing the benefits of this sport with as many people as possible. Greg is married to Celeste, a master Pilates instructor and owner of Peak Personal Pilates. They have 2 grown children; Brett, a graduate of the University of Louisville and competitive swimmer and Sarah, an NYU graduate currently pursuing a career in the arts in New York City.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys running, any outdoor activities, and watching Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Red Wings, and Notre Dame Football.

The physical therapy I received was excellent. I had never had physical therapy before and was very nervous. All staff knowledgable, personable, and they really listened to my complaints. I always left feeling better than when I came in. I would highly recommend Xcel. Any more physical therapy for me I know where I will…

I was given personalized, detailed physical therapy. The therapist took their time and did not rush any procedure. They explained every procedure before starting and made sure I was comfortable. I love this place and will continue coming until I recover.

I will recommend this place to EVERYONE! Ashley was amazing so positive and so helpful. Kevin thank you for the pokes that changed my life. Greg you have a great staff. Thank you.

Greg and the team are great! Professional, caring, and want to get you back on your feet. They won’t milk you for money like some places. If you need therapy pick Xcel!

I came here for a back injury. The staff was courteous and very professional. They provided excellent PT and encouraged several exercises at home to improve long term functioning and range of motion. Their fees were explained with no surprises. I fully recommend them without reservations.

I visited for vestibular therapy. The people were extremely helpful and easy to deal with. That reduced my anxiety/stress. They were professional and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. I felt very much at ease with them. I will use them again if the need arises.

Really impressed with the time they spent working on my problem. Did more than my family doctor and chiropractor combined. Diagnosed my knee problem, recommended at home exercises and it’s getting better. They’ve earned my trust.
