ASTYM (A-stim) treatment is a rehabilitation program that stimulates the regenerative healing process of the body. This approach is a non-invasive therapy that works fast and consistently. The ASTYM system rejuvenates muscles, tendons and ligaments. It gets rid of scar tissue problems from old injuries in a fashion previously unimaginable.
Xcel is currently the only ASTYM certified facility in the greater Dayton region. ASTYM is a new approach to the treatment of many chronic tendon and muscle injuries, including tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis to name a few. More information is available on the ASTYM website.
Dry Needling is a successful medical treatment that uses thin needles without medication (a dry needle) to promote tissue healing and treat pain. All Xcel therapists are certified to practice Dry Needling. Click for more information and details.
Our goal in the treatment of our patients is to restore them to their optimal state in the shortest time possible, in such a way that they no longer need our services. We aim to improve our patients' quality of life and, if possible, prevent a recurrence of the issues that brought them to us initially.
We employ a variety of different approaches, not commonly used together in the United States. For example, the bulk of our therapy is based on the use of the therapists' hands to improve soft tissue dysfunction, reconfigure scar or fibrous tissue and improve joint range of motion using the well-established principals of various manual therapy proponents. Chief amongst these are the Australian PT Jeff Maitland, Swedish Orthopedic Surgeon Fred Kaltenborn, British orthopedic surgeon James Cyriax, New Zealand PT Robin McKenzie, and the dry needling proponents Dr. Jane Travell and Dr. Jim Baldry.
ASTYM, a system of augmented soft tissue mobilization developed locally in Muncie, IN and dry needling, the use of a solid needle to improve soft tissue healing and accelerate pain relief, are two of the more unusual approaches commonly used in our clinic.
Our Vandalia and Anna facilities offer efficient space utilization and improved functionality geared towards maximum patient-staff satisfaction and optimal outcomes.
